PM Training

There are no standard training sessions at TK-PRO, no powerpoints and no lectures. Nearly all the time we work in small groups, the results of which are then presented to the whole team:

(1) Acquire knowledge in learning workshops

After splitting up into small groups (2-5), the trainees acquire the specific know-how in learning workshops for themselves, where two to three of them run in parallel. After that every group passes-on their knowledge to the other team members by way of a presentation (as often happens in real-life, when there are different  levels of knowledge within a team).
The trainer works mainly as a coach during that process, giving support and correcting if and where necessary.

(2) Practising with your projects

Immediately following the learning workshop on a certain topic, the  newly acquired expertise is practised with actual, real projects of your company. All tasks for the trainees are tricky enough to challenge the experienced and at the same time motivate the beginner.

Only then does the participant develop a "feel" for how the PM topics can be implemented in practice.

Microsoft Project Training

In nearly all MS Project Seminars you are taught the software functions from A to Z. When returning to work, the question for the project manager still remains: how can he actually use MS Project in his daily work.

This training is different. The focus is on the questions:

  • What does a Project Manager do during the project and how can he best use the software so it helps him?
  • And how does he use it in a way that he gets out of it, ten times more than the work he puts in?

That means a Project Management Training with software from the Project Manager's point of view and not the software's view.

In this training the participants learn to start a new project, to  structure it and to follow it up until the end (controlling):

  • Basics of Work Breakdown Structure / Scheduling
  • Basics of MS Project
  • Start a New Project
  • Enter and link Tasks
  • Customising Views (Gantt, network diagram)
  • Resources / Cost
  • MS Project in the Ongoing Project (controlling)
  • Support Claim Management
A complex case study is available, where a real project is handled by the participants. Additionally topics from the customer's actual running projects are included.
